Alexia has been performing and singing since she could talk. She found a love of harmony at the age of 6, harmonising with songs she heard on the radio, and hence began her journey of music through singing lessons. This grew to other instruments such as piano and guitar, which then aided her love and biggest passion, songwriting. Throughout her schooling, Alexia competed in such competitions as Generations in Jazz, as well as songwriting competitions such as the Australian Children’s Music Foundations National Songwriting Competition in 2017, placing runner up.
With a Bachelor of Music (BMus) from the University of Adelaide’s Conservatorium of Music, she has learned from industry professionals how to not only perform, but to write and produce her own music. Through this learning experience, she has performed alongside many great Australian touring acts, and is apart of Adelaide R&B group ARIES, and provides backup vocals for Sony artist, Jess Day.
As of recent, she has released her debut single Fern, under her project name “aleksiah” to much praise. Receiving a full add rotation on prestigious national radio station Triple J, and being coined as having “the best debut of 2022” from radio and TV personality, Bridget Hustwaite. She has been awarded such opportunities as playing Laneway festival in Melbourne, and working with talented and influential songwriters and producers all over Australia, such as Gab Strum, Joel Quartermain, Grace Shaw and more. She is excited to build a teaching relationship with her students filled with enthusiasm, learning and most importantly fun!
