Other Terms & Conditions
Refunds
Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy classes are capped at a maximum number of students and payment of Term fees confirm your child’s spot in the class. Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy reserves the right to refuse a refund of Term fees if your child simply chooses not to attend or you change your mind. You purchased the service of classes from Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy. This includes 1 Teacher (teachers are subject to change), 1 venue and classes to be run under the Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy program for 1 Term (dates stated on your invoice). We have and will continue to provide this service you purchased. We understand your right to make the decision to choose not to persevere with your child’s booking in the same respect that Theatre Bugs has the right to refuse a refund of term fees as previously outlined.
Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy acknowledges that in addition to the events described above, a refund or other remedy will be provided in the event the services provided by Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy breach any of the guarantees implied by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (‘Act’), and nothing in this cancellation policy attempts to, or has the effect of, limiting your rights under the Act. However, Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy is not required to provide a refund or any other remedy in the event you simply have a change of mind in relation to your purchase of the services from Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy.
We reserve the right to cancel a class if numbers registering are low. Once we have taken this decision we will contact you and make a full and immediate refund if we are unable to find a suitable alternative. All refunds are made via internet transfer and from cleared funds.
Viewing of students by parents and caregivers
Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy offers potential students the chance to trial a class for free, prior to their parent/carer making a financial commitment to a term. Parents/carers have an opportunity to watch the trial lesson, or part-thereof in school-aged classes, to assist the student in making an informed decision about enrolment. As a professional business, Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy ensures that customers have access to our cancellation policy via our website (public access) before they make the term commitment.
Missed lessons
We do offer catch-up lessons for missed classes. There is no cap on the number of catch-up classes that can be used in a term, but to maintain consistency for your child we don’t recommend more than 2 a term. These must be taken in the same term as the classes were missed (please note in our performance terms there is a cut-off date for catch-up lessons. Term 2 will cut-off at the end of week 5. Term 4 will cut-off the end of week 5 for preschool and Combo 1 classes, and the end of week 2 for classes performing at the theatre). If lessons are unavoidably missed after the cut-off in Terms 2 and 4, an exception can be made to carry them over into the next term. Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy do not schedule classes on public holidays or over the Easter long weekend, we are happy to offer a catch-up lesson. Due to the one-on-one nature of their classes, Private Singing/Dancing/Drama Students are unable to ‘catch-up’ lessons when the student is absent. Please contact our office on 8332 1228 if you wish to make changes to your current booking or arrange a catch-up session within our policy.
Suspension of Classes
In the event that Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy temporarily suspends classes due to external impacts or enforced closures as a result of environmental, political and health events, fees will not be refunded, however, customers will be entitled to family credits which may be used for future activities (activities will be defined as one of three categories: classes, productions, or holiday programs). Credits will be prorated based on the number of classes or sessions which have been suspended.
Online Classes
In the event your child is attending an online class, by making payment for the term you are thereby providing permission for your child to connect with Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy teachers during scheduled class times, via online video conferencing software.
Images of students
Photographs and video footage of students may be used for internal training purposes and for promotional publications including, but not limited to: use on the Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy website and social media pages, newspapers, brochures, radio and/or television. The images/footage collected may be used by a third party upon agreement by Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy for promotional purposes of Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy. Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy retains these rights over the images/footage in perpetuity and they may be offered to other interested parties. It is the caregiver’s responsibility to contact administration if you do not permit Theatre Bugs/Adelaide Theatre Academy to use photographs or video footage of your child.
