Sammi has previously been an Assistant Musical Director for Theatre Bug’s productions of Porridge (2019) at the Dunstan Playhouse, and Adelaide Theatre Academy’s critically acclaimed productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2023) and Wizard of Oz (2024). We are thrilled to have her return as Musical Director of our 2025 Fringe production. Being a teacher, musical director, business co-owner, band member, writer and musical theatre performer is a challenging juggling act, but only makes Sammi more excited for the next few years to come. She has been cast in many Adelaide Theatre Academy’s shows such as Patrice in 13: The Musical, Nancy in Oliver!, and Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins which is her favourite role to date. She also played Mary Sunshine in Pelican Production’s Chicago. She is looking forward to playing her dream role of Veronica in Heathers the Musical in September 2024.
At the Adelaide Fringe in 2024, Sammi and co-owner of new business AK Creative Jayden Ayling debuted their original work, Fountain Lakes: A Very Foxy Parody for which Sammi was Musical Director and played the role of Kath Day-Knight. Through AK creative, Sammi has also begun vocal coaching where she supports students explore their abilities and confidence as an artist.
Sammi is the third member of the local band TONIX, singing on their debut EP When We Are. TONIX has a strong passion for live gigs; some highlights include Space Jams in Inman Valley, Redfest and Big Night out at The Gov, Mt Gambier Fringe Festival, Scouted at The Lab, Lion Arts Factory, Hindley St Music Hall, and many a gig at Unibar in the latter half of 2024, they are touring the East coast and releasing singles from their upcoming album.
